GEOGRAPHIC SERVICE AREA

The Nor-West catchment area includes the municipalities of Cortlandt, Peekskill, Ossining and Yorktown.  Persons residing in the catchment area receive first priority in regard to program registration.

Nor-West also receives significant funding from the NYS Office for People With  Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) through the funding stream of Family Support Services (FSS).  Since this money is earmarked to serve families living in Westchester County, eligible persons living OUTSIDE of our catchment area but within Westchester can attend Nor-West programs if space permits.  After the program registration deadline, out-of-catchment area registrations will be processed.

FEES & CHARGES: There are several types of fees & charges associated with our programs.

Registration Fee: Money paid at the time of registration via check or money order. This fee covers the operation of the therapeutic recreation program (ie staffing, supplies, equipment, facility rental, insurance, administrative overhead). Registration fees are waived for anyone living at home with their family, regardless of waiver status. Anyone living in an IRA, Supported Apartment, Group Residence, or independently must pay the Registration Fees.

Venue Charge: Money needed at the program site that is part of the therapeutic recreation activity. Can include admission charges, tickets, user fees, meals, beverages, or snacks.  All consumers (regardless of waiver status) need to pay Venue charges. Typically, this means bringing cash  to the program and paying venue charges directly to the commercial establishment. Pre-purchased tickets generally must be paid in advance of the event. There are no refunds of pre-purchased tickets.

Transportation Fee: Money paid at the time of registration to access Nor-West transportation. You can elect one-way, round-trip, or opt to provide your own transportation.
